COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Testing

1. Terms & Conditions

Your test will be performed at one of our testing sites or for some RT-PCR home tests, a self-sample will be taken. A sample will be taken by saliva or the back of the oropharyngeal / nasopharyngeal (nose and/or throat) by one of our operatives or yourself, to be then placed into our laboratory equipment based onsite or taken to one of our laboratories for RT-PCR testing. By agreeing to this and ticking the box at the bottom of the page, you are giving consent to a member of our staff to take a sample from yourself OR your dependant. The RT-PCR test will be sent to one of our laboratories to test for the SARS-CoV-2 COVID-19 virus. We rely on third party couriers to take the sample to the laboratory, should a circumstance arise out of our hands, we will do everything in our means to make sure your test results arrive in time, however we cannot be held responsible for results that take more than 48 - 72 hours due to third party errors and or delays at the laboratories resulting in late test results.

The OptiGene COVID-19_Direct RT-LAMP KIT-500 SWAB is an in vitro diagnostic test based on Reverse Transcription Loop-mediated isothermal AMPlification (RT-LAMP) technology for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA. The detection is carried out in a one-step, closed tube format where the reverse transcription and subsequent amplification of the specific target sequence occur in the same reaction well. The Genie® II, device detect amplified product in real-time using fluorescence detection. The Genie® platforms automatically run an anneal curve at the end of amplification, where the reaction is heated to 98°C and slowly cooled. This acts as a secondary confirmatory check - ensuring LAMP amplicons are specific to SARS-CoV-2. The final result is interpreted and reported automatically from both the amplification and the anneal temperature.
